BLS Loans is committed to adhering to all requirements of the POPIA legislation:

We collect and house personal information regarding customers, including name, ID Number, bank account numbers, and several other data items of a personal nature. This is necessary to evaluate customers for loans and for setting up bank transfers and debit orders to collect payments. We collect copies of customer IDs, bank statements, and payslips as part of the customer verification process.

All this data is stored and backed up in a secure and controlled environment, and only company employees have access to it. The data is retained for 5 years, as is the norm for all financial institutions.

Customers may request to see what information is stored about them at any time. Data will not be shared with any third-party companies unless the appropriate controls are put in place. It would only be shared where needed as input for the delivery of a service, such as requesting credit bureau information. It will never be shared to be used for marketing or other purposes.
